5 Card hand rankings

These are the 5 card poker hands in order of worst to best. Starting with High hand which is whoever has the highest card since no one has anything higher such as a pair. A pair is when a player has 1 card the same as another. Then there is 2 pair which is when 2 cards match eachother. The next is three of a kind, this is also called a set, when there is 3 matching cards. A straight is when you have 5 cards in order without matching suits. A flush is the next, a flush is when you have 5 cards with matching suites. A full house is when you have a three of a kind and a pair at the same time. A four of a kind follows this and is when you have all 4 of the same cards. The second best hand is called a straight flush, as the name says it is when you have a flush and straight at the same time overlapping eachother. The highest hand possible to get in poker is called a royal flush. A royal flush is when you have 10 J Q K A in order with matching suites.

How to play stud.

Stud is diffrent than any other type of poker in the fact that there is not 5 cards layed down on the board. In stud the game begins when everyone is dealt 3 cards face down. You then have a round of betting. Then everyone is given another card followed by another round of betting. This happens until each player had 7 cards infront of them face down from all other players. After the final round of betting the cards are flipped over and whichever player has the best 5 card hand wins the pot.

How to play Pinnaple

Pinnaple is a type of poker which inwhich you are dealt 3 cards. A hand starts when all players are dealt 3 cards. The next action is for each player to throw away 1 of there 3 cards. After everyone has discarded 1 card there is than a round of betting. After the round of betting is finished the flop is layed down which is 3 cards face up. Then followed up by another round of betting. The next card layed face up is called the turn after this the third round of betting is done. The last card to be turned face up is called the river. After the river there will be 5 cards layign face up and the final round of betting occurs. The winner is decided by the best 5 card hand. The 2 cards you have left in your hand work with the 5 layed down on the board to give you your best 5 card hand,

How to play Omaha.

Omaha is a type of poker which is similar to texas holdem besides the fact your are dealt 4 cards. A hand starts when all players are dealt 4 cards. After the cards are dealt there is a round of betting. After the round of betting is finished the flop is layed down which is 3 cards face up. Then followed up by another round of betting. The next card layed face up is called the turn after this the third round of betting is done. The last card to be turned face up is called the river. After the river there will be 5 cards layign face up and the final round of betting occurs. The winner is decided by the best 5 card hand. You must use 2 and only 2 of your four cards in your hand.

Pokers main games other than texas holdem.

Many people that are new to poker only learn to play holdem some even think its the only poker game out there. This is an extremly misfortunate mind set that new young players all falling into. Poker has games such as: Omaha, Omaha high/low, Stud, Stud high/low, Pinaple, Crazy Pinanple, 2-7 low ball, Razz, and still many more variartions to poker. The reason people are falling to the assumtption of poker meaning texas holdem is  because it is the easiest to televise, advertise and to understand.

The Game of Poker.

Some say luck others say skill, but it truly is a bit of both. Personally I feel that having the ability to represent any two cards, in holdem's case, being able to read opponents, and giving off a personal image of yourself at the table are only some of the many skill based major aspects of the game, theres no need to say skill does infact over shadow luck. Many people that have grown up with the game being around but always thought of it as shady or gambling, will never give in to the countless facts proving otherwise. Some of which being why countless number of known faces are seen countinuasly at the major tournament deep runs or final tables. Honestly I feel bad for these people. Poker is a game of life that should be experienced and embraced by all. I know, I know I sound like an avid player thats gone off  his mind with game but im not. In poker you experience every type of emotion as well as learn how to deal with them, you also learn how to read and pick up on others emotions and have sound reasoning on why and what is making them act a certain way. There are times of highs that need to be controlled and manipulated and lows were tilting is the only thing on your mind. These all relate to life, and how and why we as humans act the way we do, say the things we do and what we come up with when all we want is someone to fold to our actions and move on with the rest of life.
